Environmental Commitment

Within our business we are continually trying to reduce our impact on the environment, despite the fact that there are always elements such as transport, component production etc that we cannot avoid. Whilst it is not the final answer, we decided that the Climate Care Scheme is the best available option at present for managing and partially offsetting these remaining CO2 liabilities.

We have changed our electricity supply to NPower Juice Clean and Green Electricity developed with a partnership between NPower and Greenpeace (generated from renewable sources)

We are members of an FSC Chain Of Custody Group and have been responsible for encouraging several sawmills and suppliers to become Certified to meet our demand for well managed timber. We have now almost achieved a 100% FSC supply for all our components other than waste wood.

We have also invested in a major tree planting scheme on our own land in Devon with Moor Trees (www.moortrees.org), a Charity dedicated to the restoration of broadleaved native woodland in and around Dartmoor. Some 4,500 trees have been planted this winter.

Our efforts are to ensure that customers buying from Wildlife World know that our products have a minimum carbon impact on the environment.

For more details of our environmental commitment, including the Uley Tiger - converting waste cardboard to packing material - see our Environmental Message.
